Founded in 2013 in Manila, ware-co is the personal imprint of designer Therese Regalado. It is a project inspired by her research and investigations on how objects and materials are adapted to their surroundings and human touch.
Among the varied objects and processes, there is curious attention to wear. How time wears objects or how Regalado anticipates their future wornness.
Within the reware collection are used objects found in antique and surplus stores. Beyond restoration, Regalado intervenes into the afterlife of an already discarded object, carefully considering new purposes and possibilities, designing to contribute to it’s future function. Importance is placed on long-term usage over display, but with that said, these objects are beautiful because they invite human touch, movement, and carrying. They are objects for domestic environments and objects to go.
The latter is what consists of the wearware collection, a series of bags and socks produced in small runs. With each item is a careful balance of proportion and practicality. They are objects with daily movement considered.
